A Letter from Ellen Hughes.
Executive Director   PTPDE

To our Members, Friends and Colleagues
Of People to People Delaware.

As we continue our busy holiday season, PTPDE is wishing you well in your various celebrations. While these may be smaller this year, the spirit remains.

PTPDE is grateful for your continued support and willingness to step up to the challenge of a new approach to supporting Peace through Understanding.

We look forward to 2021 with the availability of the Covid 19 vaccine for all of us in early spring. We may soon be able to breathe a sigh of relief and return to our usual way of offering in person programs.

I hope you were able to participate in our ZOOM presentations. This was a learning experience for PTPDE. Living in a time of new technology we were able to maintain relationships as we followed governmental guidelines for Covid. If you weren’t able to participate in the ZOOM presentations, you are able to view several programs on our website: PTP.org.

As we begin the month of December we have a special program on Monday, December 14 at 7:00 pm. PTPDE is pleased to present PEACE DRUMS. This is a special presentation by Harvey Price, Associate Professor of Percussion at the University of Delaware. This is a project in collaborative effort with the Delaware Churches for Middle East Peace. This involves Arab and Jewish students coming together in a musical group
playing steel drums in concert. Usually the students travel here for the concerts; however you will be treated to recordings of their talents  this year due to the pandemic. It is a very festive way to get into the holiday spirit. Please register for the program:

We also have several programs to ring in the New Year. Circle of Understanding-Switzerland, January 10; plus other upcoming   programs with dates to be determined :  BTL  focusing on India. The foundation -Built on Trust and Love was established with the aim of providing for the old, sick, poor, orphan and vulnerable children in the African Society and the world in general. Circle of Understanding :Haiti; Circle of Understanding: Lithuania and Music Along The River in late spring. Watch for continuing information on the PTPDE website.

PTPDE thanks you all for your continued support. We wish you a happy and healthy New Year in 2021.

Ellen Hughes
