2021 PTPDE Youth Art Event

People to People Delaware Chapter provided a two day art workshop at the Boys and Girls Club of Delaware using the theme Unite for Justice, Unite for Peace.  The theme was created to reflect our nation’s reckoning with social justice issues.  Ms. Eunice Lafate, award winning artist, helped the students translate their ideas into visual concepts to bring the theme to life in their artwork.  Thank you to the Boys and Girls Club of Delaware for making this workshop possible.  Enjoy the vibrant art and thoughtful messages from the students!

Dear Friends and Members,

Gathering virtually has been our PTPDE goal since the Covid-19 pandemic stopped all active, in-person programs.  We hope that you have joined us via Zoom as we have presented: Year of the Woman: Courageous Women of the World; Covid-19: Focus on Africa; and Circle of Understanding: Tajikistan.  We also offered our Art from the Heart exhibit during Peace Week Delaware. http://www.peaceweekdelaware.org/events/art-from-the-heart-know-justice-know-peace/

If you wish to offer creative ideas for programs, please contact the Board at info@ptpde.org!  We contemplate opportunities to partner with other organizations to connect with people around the world using Zoom.  The possibilities are endless and you can help make that happen!

If you wish to be more involved, please let us know as we have openings on our Membership, Programs, and Public Relations committees. Also you could join our Books for Youth or Peace Week Projects.  It is a fun way to meet and interact with more people in our Chapter!

If you wish to donate at a higher level, we would appreciate your added support during this challenging year of 2020.

It is inspiring to witness the members of PTPDE stepping up to provide countless volunteer hours.  Why do we get so involved?  Because we all believe that we

can make the world a better place by building relationships with other peoples around the world.  We welcome you to join us!

Thank you for the opportunity to serve PTPDE!

A Letter from Our Co-Presidents, Jean Raleigh & Dr. Saleem Kahn on Membership

A Letter from Our Co-Presidents, Jean Raleigh & Dr. Saleem Kahn on Membership

Dear Friends of PTPDE,
Thank you for your continued support! We on your Board of Directors look forward to connecting with you in the near future at our next board meeting on August 26th at 6:30 on Zoom.

This is the first time that we have asked all our members to join us as we discuss plans for our future! The more members who are involved in PTPDE, the stronger our organization will be in influencing others in furthering Peace Through Understanding.

One very important aspect of PTPDE is meeting people of different cultures face to face! But with Covid-19 that is impossible at this moment.
Nimble leadership in PTPDE ventured into uncharted territory this spring as we were challenged by not being able to have in-person meetings.

Creative members of our Board and our new Executive Director, Ellen Hughes, found new opportunities by presenting
digital programs on Zoom, connecting with you by designing more colorful emails and urging members to renew for 2020-2021 by sending information via snail mail and an updated website!
As we ponder what might be ahead, we will remain mindful that members are why we have been so involved in planning meaningful programs and events. Partner with us in creating a great website, interacting on Facebook, making comments on Twitter, creating programs and other exciting events.

Join us also in reaching new audiences! With Zoom we have the potential to connect with anyone who has internet around the world. This technology offers
all sorts of possibilities!

We hope to see YOU on August 26th at 6:30 on Zoom!
The citizens of the world certainly need PEACE THROUGH UNDERSTANDING!

Let’s make it happen!

-Co-presidents of PTPDE Jean Raleigh and Dr. Saleem Khan
