Music & More By a New River August 11, 2024

People to People Delaware hosted our annual membership appreciation event on August 12, 2024 at the Chinese American Community Center (CACC) in Hockessin, Delaware. The event was indoors and we had our own replica of the Yellow River (Huang He) near Zhengzhou, China. Many current members guests attended. We were immersed in Chinese culture, enjoying entertainment from several groups from the CACC, including a fashion show, song and dance, Chinese yo-yo demonstration (with our members getting to try), and an entertaining Chinese lion dance. The food was excellent and catered by Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet in Peoples Plaza.

Tyler led the day in his usual entertaining style and he even pulled "fish" from the "river" and many members and guests won prizes from our "treasure chest." There were fundraising activities, including the sale of PTPDE tee-shirts and the sale of Dr. Saleem Khan's book, Against the Odds: A Story of Courage, Faith and Resolve, which Dr. Saleem donated and matched the proceeds. All PTPDE donations benefit our charitable activities and are tax deductible. Special thanks to Ping Xu and Michele Weiner for chairing this fabulous event.
