UD Delegation Dinner Recap

Thanks to our VP of Hosting, Erin Bastien, for the lovely dinner at Columbus Inn in Wilmington with the UD Saudi delegation. The food was terrific and the fellowship was welcoming. We were able to connect across varied cultures and make friends in our mission of Peace through Understanding. PTPDE was represented by Erin Bastien, Tyler Johnson, Jean Raleigh, Sharon Copper, Dr. Marilyn Stadlius, Erin Zoranski, Michele Weiner, Aisha Al Hajjar, Mohammed Al Hajjar, and Haider Al Hajjar. The delegates, although working in Saudi Arabian schools for years, come from Tunisia, Lebanon, Egypt, Jordan, and the Philippines. We exchanged contacts with many and hope to keep connected. Perhaps we will see some of them via Circles of Understanding in the future.

PTPDE Sponsored the Mandela Washington Fellows Reception Hosted by the Delaware Africa Coalition

PTPDE, represented by President, Tyler Johnson, VP of Hosting, Erin Bastien, Board Member, Michele Weiner, Advisor Miriam Marinello and family, and Executive Director, Aisha Al Hajjar and family, supported the Delaware Africa Coalition's (DAC) reception for the current Mandela Washington Fellows cohort. We hosted a table, where our teen volunteer, Amani Al Hajjar, provided henna and Member, Susan Stephens, donated one-hundred 3D printed fidget spinners for the gift bags. There was plenty of African and Caribbean food and rhythmic African music. The DAC's Chairmen, Dr. Kelechi Lawrence, spoke of a united Africa and opportunities for education and growth amongst the African diaspora in Delaware and across the United States.
